We are nearing the end of 2024, so it is time to reflect on and recognize our achievements. On 10 January 2022, I started with a monthly newsletter, The Future of CM, which reached 2156 subscribers at the time of writing this post, which is an increase of 381 subscribers compared to last year. This year the collaboration with Florian Böhme, Lucas Heckmann, Jean-Hervé Poisson, Badia Dandana, & Chris Seiler continued, resulting in two excellent articles.
Next to the newsletter in 2024 I started posting short CM Tiles in the CM is… series, to create awareness about the breadth of Configuration Management.
In 2023 I published my first book: The Essential Guide to Part Re-Identification. Currently rated at 4.3 stars on Amazon. I am still receiving a lot positive feedback. Thank you, if you purchased a copy of my book. And if you have not yet, what are you waiting for and get your own copy (or buy one for a friend of for underneath the Christmas tree).
The 2024 achievements in numbers
So let’s look at some statistics from LinkedIn (note LinkedIn changed the analytics view which allowed me to add some additional information):

While the newsletter impressions and views are up compared to 2023, the engagements are down. This can be completely be attributed to the introduction of my book 2023 and the engagement around it. What I’m quite amazed of is that I reached over 32000 unique LinkedIn members.

In summary
Again an amazing year has passed. Introducing the CM Tiles (CM is…) really triggered some nice discussions. The continued collaboration with Florian Böhme, Lucas Heckmann, Jean-Hervé Poisson & Badia Dandana and not to forget Chris Seiler. Like other years, I had the chance to engage with many of you, sometimes even via online meetings, which gave me a lot of new insights and inspiration for future materials. Last but not least, I would like to thank all my readers, commenters, subscribers, followers, and connections who helped me share the importance of Configuration Management and joined me on the journey of unraveling the future of CM.
Please keep liking, commenting, and reposting my articles so we can elevate Configuration Management, as it is often underappreciated.
